PRESIDENT’S WELCOME LETTER FOR THE NEW 2025-2026 SEASON
To All Community Connections members and guests:
Change is coming to all of us. During several CC Board meetings this summer, a
sleeker CC has been taking shape, starting this Fall. Our new, streamlined schedule will include the following:
- General meetings will occur 4 times for the 2025-2026 season.
- We will bring our own beverages to the potlucks; water will be provided.
- The scholarship luncheon will be changed to an afternoon Scholarship
Awards event with tea and desserts, no luncheon.
Meeting Schedule for 2025-2026 Term
- October 8, 2025 Fall Gathering 11AM
- November 5, 2025 Speaker Meeting 11:30AM
- February 4, 2025 Speaker Meeting 11:30AM
- May 13, 2025 Spring Scholarship Awards AFTERNOON
Interest groups will continue to remain active.
I am very happy to announce this will be my last year as President of CC, and others will step up to fill in our Board open positions. The tasks will be reduced due to the changes.
We have lost our UCSC Staff Liaison, Clea Hermanson, and the vital work that she did: attending all general meetings and handling membership roster and membership name tags, assisting us with planning meetings, paying expenses through UCSC payment system and being available for us in many ways. She will be missed. She tolerated our difficulties and was always encouraging. Many of these tasks have been picked up by board members.
Remember it is time to renew your membership or for guests to join our organization.
Hazel Powell is in charge of our website, and we will continue to use the website to enroll. Membership fees will remain the same. As a lifetime member, I donate during this time, and I encourage other lifetime members to do the same. A reminder about membership with the appropriate link will be sent out in September.
Continue to enjoy the rest of your summer. I look forward to seeing all of you for our Fall Gathering on October 8, 2025. A reminder will be sent in October.
